Meet Jennifer Footman

Intern.

Lifelong Learner.

Therapist.

My Story

I have traveled throughout the United States and lived in upstate New York, central New Mexico, and Southern California. In 2016, I found myself back in Colorado Springs with my husband, our three children, our dog, and our cat. Moving so frequently has given me an appreciation for roots and the fact Colorado Springs is once again my permanent home. When I’m not at C.A.R.E., you can find me studying, outside working on my garden, tending my beehive, or just reading a good book.

Rediscovering Purpose

The how and why of human behavior has always intrigued me, but I felt my struggles prevented me from aiding others, even those who may be facing similar challenges. So, I chose a different career and put my dreams of becoming a therapist on hold. But life happens, and in 2021, a combination of events made me realize I don’t have to be perfect to help people, and I enrolled in the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work.

Now...

I understand how crippling it can be when your soul hurts, or you feel like you’re different, or you can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel. It's why I'm interning at C.A.R.E. We can work together to try and ease some of your pain. Let’s talk.

The Ongoing Journey

I am currently an intern with C.A.R.E., and I will get my MSW in the fall of 2024. My ultimate goal is to become a licensed clinical social worker and I am excited to work with C.A.R.E. and with you along the way.
